About Project: Read, Write, Thrive – Adult Literacy Center

The Reed, Right, Thrive Project aims to eliminate adult illiteracy from Punjab by setting up adult literacy centers (ALCs) in rural and urban communities. These centers serve as a center of learning for adults of 16 and above, who never had a chance to go to school. Through this initiative, the government of Punjab attempts to empower citizens with basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, paving the way for a more literate, informed, and economically stable society.

Adult literacy centers will be established in many categories, including:

  • General literacy
  • Health education
  • Agriculture
  • Animal
  • Prison education
  • Mines and minerals

This diversity ensures that literacy is not only limited to reading and writing, but also integrated with practical, livelihood-related knowledge for real-life benefits.
