VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Office of the Board of Governors MTI ATH/AMC/ACD Medical Teaching Institution (ATH/AMC/ACD) Abbottabad is a Tertiary Care 1500 beds Hospital under the MTI Act, 2015 (amended from time to time) and requires applications for the services of the following as per the below-mentioned conditions:

QUALIFICATION:
The candidate must be a medical academic with an MBBS or equivalent qualification plus a higher diploma such as FOPS, FROP, FRCS, or a US Board Certification or equivalent qualification in any clinical medical science recognized by PMSDC.
EXPERIENCE:
The candidate will have a record of excellence in clinical care and have at least three years of management or administrative experience as head of a unit in a major hospital clinical unit in any clinical discipline, including:
- Medicine and its subspecialties
- Surgery and its subspecialties
- Pediatrics and its subspecialties
- Obstetrics/Gynaecology and its subspecialties
- Radiology and imaging services
- Pathology
- Any other major clinical units
SKILLS:
- Excellent soft skills, including but not limited to communication, ability to work under stress, team development, and timely compliance with tasks assigned by the Board of Governors (BOG)
- Excellent clinical and time management skills
- Proven leadership and project management skills

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Medical Director shall be responsible for all clinical functions of the hospital, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring clinical excellence in all aspects of hospital functions
- Ensuring timely, appropriate management of patients
- Ensuring the best outcomes for all patients
- Undertaking clinical governance or quality control
- Ensuring implementation of position-based private practice (18P)
- Assessing and auditing existing clinical programs and developing new clinical programs
- Developing an annual budget, including capital medical equipment requests, for presentation to the Hospital Management Committee and the Board
- Reporting to the Board of Governors of MTI ATH and adhering to the MTI Act, regulations, and MTI-ATH/AMC/ACD rules as amended
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Shortlisting will be done based on educational qualifications and relevant experience (BOG/MTI approved criteria)
- Only shortlisted candidates will appear for an interview before the Selection Committee
- Candidates must be readily available for the position at the time of the interview
- Overall personality and suitability will be considered
- Only Government Servants who provide a Willingness Certificate to leave service immediately upon selection will be considered
- The committee will recommend names to the BoG MTI ATH/AMC/ACD in order of merit, of interview and pre-interview marks
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
- The position shall be filled on a contract basis for a period of five (05) years, extendable for a further two (02) terms of five (05) years each, at the discretion of the Board, subject to satisfactory annual performance evaluations (PERs).
- The selection criteria notified in October 2025 shall apply.
- The Medical Director shall have no conflict of interest.
- Upon appointment, the Medical Director shall simultaneously receive a faculty appointment commensurate with his/her qualifications and the prescribed institutional requirements.
- The Medical Director shall practice exclusively on the premises of the Hospital; no outside private or consultancy practice shall be permitted.
- Candidates employed in Government/Semi-Government organizations must apply through the proper channel with NOC and, if selected, shall resign from service. Civil Servants, including those on long leave, must resign from the Civil Service. Failure to secure acceptance of resignation within the probation period shall render the employment terminated.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview; no TA/DA will be admissible. Original documents must be presented at the time of the interview.
- An attractive salary package and benefits, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the appointee, shall be offered.
- The Selection and Scrutiny Committee reserves the right to reject any incomplete or late application.
- An aggrieved candidate may submit a written appeal to the Competent Authority, whose decision shall be final.
- No correspondence shall be entertained once the selection process is completed or a candidate has been appointed.
- Any attempt to approach or influence any member of the Selection Committee or any official through any means shall result in automatic disqualification.
- The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final, subject to approval by the Board of Governors, AMTI Abbottabad.
